One of the more difficult things about the vegan lifestyle is finding eco-friendly clothing and in particular, shoes. I am shoe obsessed and when you think of vegan footwear, you don’t think of anything too modern or fashionable.
Fashion-conscience.com changes all that. A relatively new UK company formed in 2007 was founded by a former fashion journalist so you know there will be no ill-fitting, clumpy shoes here. The idea was to create a one-stop-shop showcasing the best in fashion for the eco-conscious and features designers across the world. That sounds like no easy feat but it has been done and the result has me drooling!
Not only are a wide array of the products vegan and eco-friendly, but also sustainable, fairtrade and some are recycled:
With 1 million tonnes of textiles ending up in landfill every year, it is hugely important to reduce this waste in our own country. We love labels such as ReLUXE which use recycled fabrics to create hip, on-trend, and often one-off pieces.
First up, I fell in love with the Melissa Prism Wedge. The block colour on the heel is so modern and I adore edgy heels.
If, like me, you prefer your heels immensely high then this pair of peep toes from Chinese Laundry is definitely for you. Bang on trend again with some aztec tribal colourings and I love the criss cross design.
All products have a “My Ethics” tab, which tells you more about the ethics behind the product so you know exactly what you’re getting. There are so many gorgeous things on this site, it’s been hard for me to pick just a few.
The FC Select vegan zip bag was another must have that I’ll be adding to my collection.
Reluxe’s recycled typewriter necklaces are such a statement. Grab them quick though as letters are running out fast (and there’s no “G” left. Gutter).
I could literally go for ages so I think it’s best if you just click the link, get it bookmarked and grab your credit card.
