Cruelty free, home-made face mask – Green Monster

I love making cosmetics at home; you know exactly what the ingredients are, they are better for environment and kinder to the skin, plus there’s no animal cruelty to worry about. If you’re new or intimidated by making your own cleansers and moisturisers then start with a face mask. They have to the easiest product to produce for any skin type. I have devised an all purpose one for any skin type called Green Monster and it can be made up from your kitchen in less than five minutes!

Think back to when you were in school – banana, honey and porridge oats! I remember doing this and it was so bloody messy. This one is a little less sticky, good for mature skin although you will need some privacy as it’s not called Green Monster for nothing.

Green VegansIngredients:

1 tsp dried mint (if using fresh – 1/2 tsp finely chopped)

1 tsp ground ginger (if using fresh – 1/2 tsp finely grated)

1 tsp green clay

2 tbsp mashed avocado

1 tsp of witch hazel or olive oil

It’s simple – mash it all together and slap it on your face. Leave for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off by rubbing in small circles with warm water. It will clean your skin and moisturise whilst leaving it plump and fresh looking. The mint and ginger work on any little spots that crop up and stimulate too.
