Eastern Puma now extinct

It’s with a heavy heart that I bring you the news the Eastern Puma is now extinct.

Not only that, this is news dating back to June 2015! Why is this not deemed important enough to make headline news? A species of animal will never been seen again except in pictures and this has happened in our lifetime.

You can read more about this story over at Planet Experts.com but this is the second species I have read about that are now extinct in as many year. I was saddened to hear of the extinction of the Black-Horned Rhino but what made it worse, was that when announced on social media, people were more interest in a stupid picture of chocolate coins on my Facebook than they were of this horrific news.

As the most destructive species on Earth, we need to be more attentive and aware of what is happening. But you can’t teach compassion and I believe, like the Eastern Puma, it’s an emotion facing extinction.
